Fall Trend: Leopard

(This is the second in a series about fall trends. Read the first post here.)

My favorite fall trend is back! Leopard continues to be a popular print, and I couldn’t be happier. For many years, leopard was seen as an accent piece, but it’s recently emerged as a full-on basic for your wardrobe. I’m seeing lots of leopard tops, pants, and jackets in addition to belts, bags, and shoes. One of my favorite brands, cabi, has three leopard pieces this season!

Fashion designers consider leopard to be a neutral you can wear with almost any color or pattern. I especially like it with this season’s Grenadine and Tawny Port. I usually recommend spending less money on trends, but since leopard is a classic print, investing in something you really love makes sense because you will be able to wear it for a long time.

I decided to do a spend/save round-up for this post. Click here for my online catalog with shopping options for every budget!

Clothes

All of these can be dressed up or down. Pair the tops and sweaters with distressed jeans for a casual look and black pants or a pencil skirt for work. I like the skirts with a denim shirt – very preppy. You could also wear them with a black t-shirt.

Shoes

Mules/slides are very “in” this season. I’m on the fence about them – it’s hard for me to keep them on my feet! Loafers are a must-have for your fall wardrobe, and leopard booties are a great way to elevate a plain t-shirt-and-jeans outfit.

Accessories

The great thing about accessories is that you can add trends to your wardrobe without breaking the bank. If you’re not sold on leopard print clothes or shoes, try a leopard accent in a pair of sunglasses, a scarf, or clutch. You will look effortlessly chic!
