May Style Challenges: Round Up

Scrolling through my Instagram posts from last spring, I realized something: I had gotten into a yoga pants rut. I started practicing yoga at BIG Power Yoga in January 2017. I signed up for their 40 Days Stretch Yourself Challenge, practiced yoga 6 out of 7 days a week, and never looked back.

It turns out yoga is my thing, y’all! The only problem was that I was wearing yoga clothes 6 out of 7 days a week and not really presenting myself as a personal stylist. It’s hard to sell yourself as a fashion expert when you never wear “real” clothes!

So in May, I committed to getting dressed, styling my hair, and wearing makeup at least 3 times a week and posting pictures on Instagram. Since I hadn’t worn most of my new or past season spring clothes, I also decided to do shop my closet for all my outfits, and I tagged my posts with #shopyourcloset and #noshoppingchallenge.

I set another goal of wearing sleeveless tops without a sweater or jacket. This might not seem like a big deal, but I’m self-conscious about my arm fat and rarely wore tops that showed my arms. It’s waaaaaay too hot in Houston to wear sleeves in the summer, so I decided this would be the year I’d get over it and go sleeveless. I used the hashtag #loveyourarms on those posts.

These are all the outfit pics I posted on Instagram in May. I could wear white jeans, a cute top, and sandals every day when it’s warm. It’s such an easy outfit formula that anyone can copy. I tried to mix it up with other bottoms. Can you tell I love orange, white, and blue??

The foundation of my wardrobe is cabi, a women’s clothing line sold at home shows and private appointments. Some of the things I’m wearing are from past seasons; others are available through my cabi stylist, Lisa Rosenfeld, here or through the links below.

Bottoms: Kick It Crop | M’Leggings | Tidal Skinny

Most of the other clothes in my May outfits are from Talbots or local boutiques. I’ve linked the current Talbots items and a few shoes, too. The purse and all of my jewelry is from Stella & Dot. You can find current pieces here.

Bottoms: 5 Pocket Boyfriend Jeans | 5 Pocket Boyfriend Shorts | Chambray Button-Tab Pants

Shoes: Tretorn | Tory Burch | Converse

I really had fun shopping my boutique – it’s full of everything I love! I can’t wait to get dressed in the morning, and I feel confident in what I’m wearing.
