I’m participating in an Instagram style challenge this month called #wearwhatwherefebruary. There is a different prompt each day; I’ve enjoyed thinking of new ways to wear the clothes, shoes, and accessories in my wardrobe (you can read about my outfits from Week 1 here and Week 2 here,) and following all the participants on Instagram. It’s inspiring to see the different ways people interpret the themes.
Most of the clothes in my wardrobe aren’t for sale anymore, but I’ve linked to some of the things that are still in the stores and found similar pieces for others. I listed the jewelry I’m wearing, and you can shop my website here. (I am an independent stylist for Stella & Dot. If you place an order through my link, I will earn commission. Thank you for supporting my fashion business!)
This is the list of daily themes:
Day 15: PLAIDitude
I don’t have much plaid in my wardrobe, so I chose a pair of printed Lysse leggings for this outfit. I got them from Marlo Miller Boutique in Houston. The Easy Hoodie from cabi’s Fall 2015 Collection lives up to its name – comfy, cozy, and easy to style with leggings or jeans. The Sam Edelman boots are available at DSW. Stella & Dot: Sparkle Studs and Rebel Pendant Necklace.
Day 16: Crossbody vs. Clutch and Day 17: Simply Muted
I wore workout clothes on Day 16, so I made up for it by wearing two outfits on Day 17!
I wore my favorite Bordeaux jeans and Cover Up Tee from cabi for my first outfit. These jeans are soft and stretchy, and they go with so many things in my wardrobe (I styled them seven more ways in this post.) I love the colors in the top – brown and pink ombre really fit the Simply Muted theme. I got this cute Kate Spade crossbody at the Houston outlet mall for 60% off the tag price. It’s perfect for this outfit. I’m also wearing black Tieks, the first pair I purchased. Stella & Dot: Rebel Pendant Necklace, Gilded Path Double Wrap Bracelet, Artisan Marquis Cuff.
I wore the second outfit to an art gallery opening. Pants are still a muted burgundy, but I punched them up with a printed cabi top and blazer, a bold statement necklace, and added another bracelet to my arm party; Sam Edelman booties again. Stella & Dot: Nancy Studs, Pavilion Necklace, Artisan Marquis Cuff, Gilded Path Double Wrap Bracelet, Arrison Stretch Bracelet.
Day 18: To Infinity Scarf & Beyond
This is a good example of why this style challenge has been good for me. I paired a navy cabi top and black M’Leggings (cabi Spring 2015) with a brightly colored scarf my sister gave me. I’ve always loved this scarf but had never worn it. I think it looks great against the dark blue shirt. Black Tieks and Stella & Dot: Horizon Chandeliers, Engravable Bar Necklace, Icon Convertible Watch, Ally Double Wrap Bracelet, Arrison Stretch Bracelet.
Day 19: Chambray All Day and Day 20: Puppy Love
Here’s another combo outfit. Not only that, but I’m wearing my red jeans again! I wish they came in more colors. 🙂 I have a hard time finding button up shirts that don’t gape in the bust, but this one from Talbots works well for me over a white tank. It’s on sale, and they have all sizes left. I love my leopard Tieks and wear them every chance I get. Stella & Dot: retired earrings, Engravable Tag and retired Paw Print Charm (for my dog, Coco,) Legend Pendant Necklace, Deco Cocktail Ring, Arrison Stretch Bracelet, Artisan Disc Cuff, Icon Convertible Watch, Renegade Cluster Bracelet.
Day 21: Stripes Are Nice
I pulled on my M’Leggings (similar here) again with this buttery-soft swing tee from cabi’s Fall 2015 Collection. I think the color is so pretty, and the multicolored Tieks are like jewelry for my feet. They’re out of stock, but you can join the waitlist here. Stella & Dot: Totem Necklace and Earrings. They have removable parts – you can wear them with or without the tassels and middle sections. You can wear the necklace long or short.
Hmmm. Certain pieces are really getting a workout – I couldn’t have made it through this week without my Bordeaux jeans, M’Leggings (I have two pairs,) Tieks, and booties! Which outfit is your favorite? If I had to choose, I would probably say the last one. It feels like I’m wearing pajamas and slippers!
