Third Time’s a Charm: Polka Dots

As a curvy girl (i. e. plus-size), I am always on the lookout for fashionable clothes that are tailored well and fit nicely. Since I’m short (5′ 3″), this is especially challenging. Just because something is in my “plus” size does not mean it’s a good fit for me; the best brands are ones that have a Woman Petites category, like Talbots.  I don’t want to limit my outfit posts to clothing in my size, however, nor do I want to create outfits only from Nordstrom or Talbots (I need to branch out into other plus-size lines – most brands/designers are making clothes for fuller-figured women now), but I got an email from Talbots with a link to their cute new polka dot items, and I loved everything so much that I decided to do a post with clothes I could/would actually wear.

I love this dress and wish I had someplace to wear it! It looks cute with the black shoes, but I might pair it with these nude slingbacks to elongate my short legs. I love coral with black for spring and summer, and if I were in San Francisco or Seattle, I would want a wrap for when it cools down in the evening.

I’m definitely getting this shirt – it’s got it all: polka dots, ruching, and a faux wrap! It also comes in black, so I’m torn about which color to get. I have white jeans and the silver coral pendant, which is just the right length for this neckline. I have similar wedges but no sunglasses. I tend to lose them, so I just don’t wear them, but maybe I should start. 🙂

I love green and black together. Throw in some polka dots, and you have a great Saturday lunch-and-shopping-with-your-BFF outfit! The ring is a perfect statement piece, and I like the pink purse for a splash of color.

Which outfit is your favorite? Have you tried polka dots this spring? Let me know in the comments!
