Third Time’s a Charm: Florals

{If you haven’t entered my giveaway yet, click here  for details!}

I admit it: I have been reluctant to embrace the floral trend. Maybe it’s because when I think of floral prints, I picture a dress with a huge bow and puffy sleeves à la the late ’80s. I spent a lot of time in the Laura Ashley store when I was in high school, trying to find the perfect floral dress for the first day of school/Easter/graduation. That makes me want to “Just say no!” to the lure of fashion’s new flowers.

But, in the interest of keeping you, my readers, up to date, I have overcome my aversion to bring you 3 ways to incorporate floral prints into your wardrobe without spending a fortune at Laura Ashley. You’re welcome.

The first look is an outfit I put together for my friend, Rachela, when I did her virtual wardrobe makeover. I love the bold colors in this top, and I think it is the perfect update to an ’80s staple.

How sweet is this skirt? It has flowers AND a bow!

The pants were the hardest for me to find. Not only did I have a plethora of floral dresses and tops in the ’80s, but I also had flowered pants. Lots of them. I can still picture the cutest outfit I had: a chambray shirt, Ralph Lauren pants, a brown woven belt, and brown Van Eli flats. Sigh. I loved that outfit!
