Rene’s Wardrobe Makeover

My friend and fellow Stella & Dot stylist, Rene, hired me to update her spring/summer wardrobe with the colors of the season: tangerine, coral, yellow, green, and blue. She also wanted suggestions for how to wear her jewelry from Stella & Dot’s Summer 2012 Capsule Collection. By day, Rene is a building facilities and event manager. She often leaves work and goes directly to trunk shows, so she needed business casual outfits for work that could easily transition to trunk show attire. On the weekends, when she’s not doing trunk shows, Rene visits her sister and her sister’s kids, attends wine tastings, and goes out to dinner with her husband.

Rene usually wears neutrals (black, grey, and white) and flats to work. She wanted me to show her how to create multiple outfits from a few different pieces, including a pair of trouser jeans and gold ballet flats she already has in her closet. I found some mint green pants, a green pencil skirt, and two dresses to balance out her wardrobe and added two cardigans, one white and one with the cutest butterfly print that she can wear with the dresses and over tanks or tees, depending on the occasion. I did The Coco Chanel makeover for Rene and accessorized the outfits with some of the gorgeous pieces from our summer collection. Take a look!
