A little over a year ago, I made a decision that changed my life: I signed up to sell jewelry with a company called Stella & Dot. I became a stylist because I loved the jewelry and needed a way to justify purchasing a LOT of it. I also wanted something in my life that was different from teaching, and I found that Stella & Dot was the perfect blend of fashion, friends, and fun, not to mention wine! Every time I placed a sample order, I looked forward to its arrival like a kid at Christmas. Opening the irresistibly packaged big box, peering inside, and seeing all of the adorable little boxes was such a treat! I oohed and ahhed as each new piece revealed itself.
Stella & Dot gave me the confidence I needed to explore other ways of earning a living besides teaching full-time in a school. I decided to leave teaching and take a chance on being my own boss. Today I am a homeschool teacher/tutor and a Stella & Dot stylist with flexibility in my schedule and a renewed enthusiasm for teaching. I’ve learned a lot about business and have challenged myself to do things I previously wouldn’t have considered – introducing myself as a stylist to people who compliment me on my jewelry, going to strangers’ homes for trunk shows, and flying to San Francisco for Stella & Dot’s national conference, having only “met” fellow stylists on Facebook. Now I have a support network of like-minded entrepreneurs all over the US and Canada. I couldn’t be happier with my decision, and I am eager to start building a team of stylists so I can coach other women (and men – we have several very successful male stylists) to success on their own terms.
Now is a fabulous time to take advantage of the opportunity to become a stylist. Whether you want to earn a little extra income in 2012 or a lot, there is a place for you (or someone you know) with Stella & Dot. Check out my website and the information about our January sign-up special below. If you are interested in knowing more about becoming a stylist with Stella & Dot (or know someone who might be interested), please let me know. I would love to talk to you about your goals and how Stella & Dot might be able to help you reach them in 2012.
Our spring line debuts on January 8. Look for a post on January 12th or 13th with pictures of my new samples!
